Specializations available Under B.Sc Computer Science :
Cyber Security
The BSc in Computer Science with Cyber Security program offers a solid foundation in core computer science principles, with a focus on specialized cyber security skills. This degree is crafted to equip students with the knowledge needed to safeguard computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats and attacks. Graduates will gain the skills to scientifically assess, explore, and analyze real-world problems, all while working ethically in multidisciplinary teams. Collaborations with industry experts and access to advanced technology will also provide valuable real-world insights and practical experience.
Data Analytics
A Data Analytics program equips students with skills to gather, process, and interpret large data sets to help organizations make data-driven decisions. Typically, the curriculum covers statistical analysis, data visualization, machine learning, and database management. Students learn tools and programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, and software like Tableau and Excel for data visualization. By focusing on practical, hands-on projects, graduates are prepared for roles in industries like finance, marketing, healthcare, and technology, where they can analyze trends, optimize processes, and support strategic decisions.
AI & ML
An AI & ML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) program is designed to equip learners with skills in designing, developing, and deploying intelligent systems. The program typically covers foundational concepts in AI, including problem-solving, decision-making, and learning algorithms. In ML, it focuses on algorithms and statistical models that enable systems to learn from data, make predictions, and improve over time without explicit programming.
IoT (Internet of Things) and IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things
Internet of Things (IoT)
IoT refers to the network of physical devices embedded with sensors, software, and other technologies, allowing them to connect and exchange data over the internet. IoT is commonly used in consumer applications, such as smart homes, wearable devices, and smart cities, where devices like thermostats, security cameras, and appliances communicate to improve efficiency, convenience, and user experience.
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
IIoT is a subset of IoT focused specifically on industrial applications. It involves connecting industrial machines, equipment, and systems to optimize and automate processes. IIoT is widely applied in industries like manufacturing, energy, and transportation. It allows for predictive maintenance, real-time monitoring, supply chain optimization, and enhanced operational efficiency by providing detailed data and insights about machinery and production lines. In short, while both IoT and IIoT aim to connect devices and utilize data, IoT primarily enhances everyday life, whereas IIoT focuses on improving industrial processes and outcomes.
