Go global with BSDT

Since its inception in 2016, we have been providing emerging creative talents with exceptional opportunities for international recognition and exposure.

BSDT is dedicated to helping students showcase their talents on a global scale. We offer a six-month optional study opportunity in Bali as part of our Bachelor in Design program, allowing students to gain cultural exposure and learn through real-time projects.

BSDT STUDIO
“Our senses have evolved to work together—vision can influence hearing, for instance—meaning we learn best when we engage multiple senses simultaneously.” At BSD, we emphasize the importance of applying theoretical knowledge practically. Each semester, we introduce a hypothetical project that students design while following a structured design process and collaborating with our experienced faculty. This journey culminates in an external jury, where professionals from the field provide valuable individual feedback to the students.

Every semester, we present a new hypothetical or live project, progressively increasing in scope and complexity. Working in real time allows students to understand how to approach design projects in the professional world. The process begins with research, understanding, and learning, followed by developing ideas, concepts, and design modules under the guidance of their mentors. After refining their work, students prepare final presentations for review.

The design studio serves as an open discussion forum throughout the semester, fostering interaction among students and teachers across different batches, all focusing on design. At BSD, we believe that this collaborative approach enhances our learning experience, as we all gain insights from one another on this design journey.

Do you have any specific questions about the design process or how to effectively implement these concepts in your projects? It's important to fully grasp how these elements interconnect to enhance your learning experience.
INTERACTIVE LABS
“Most learning comes not from direct instruction but from active participation in meaningful environments.” At the Bangalore School of Design, skill development workshops take place weekly. We prioritize the holistic development of our students, working to foster growth both inside and outside the classroom. A wide range of workshops is organized at BSD, covering topics related to general education, creative pursuits, and subject-specific sessions. Workshops such as Entrepreneurship 101 and Business Language Training are just a couple of examples that help set BSD students apart.
EXPERT TALK
"Design serves as the bridge between information and understanding." Industry experts from various fields regularly engage in knowledge-sharing sessions with our design students. This cross-industry interaction allows students to draw inspiration and gain insights, equipping them to become informed designers in their careers. It not only enhances their subject knowledge but also prepares them for the industry, current trends, and the challenges of the professional world.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING

As part of #WeGoBeyondCurriculum, we promote learning beyond the classroom. This approach provides students with a well-rounded education rather than a narrow focus. Students frequently visit diverse locations as part of their learning journey, which enhances not only their academic skills but also their overall development. These outings include monuments, museums, art galleries, lakes, parks, and other points of interest, offering students a range of perspectives.

Reflection: Integrate opportunities for students to reflect on their experiences and learn from them.
Collaboration: Promote teamwork and collaboration among peers to enhance learning outcomes.
Problem-Solving: Focus on real-life problems that require critical thinking and creative solutions.
Feedback: Provide constructive feedback throughout the learning process to help students improve.
Diverse Experiences: Incorporate a variety of learning environments, such as field trips, internships, or community projects.
Mentorship: Connect students with mentors who can guide them through their learning journey.
Skill Application: Allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations to reinforce their learning..
Adaptability: Encourage flexibility and adaptability to navigate unexpected challenges during the learning process.
Assessment: Use diverse assessment methods to evaluate student understanding and skill development based on their experiences.

Observational Tours

It’s essential for an educational institution to extend beyond the prescribed curriculum and provide students with valuable exposure through innovative modules that not only enhance their skills but also significantly contribute to their overall development. The Bangalore School of Design and technology prioritizes this approach, believing in the importance of going beyond traditional coursework to nurture and shape the next generation of designers. Each semester, we offer our students additional modules and interactive sessions that supplement the standard curriculum of our affiliated universities.
